Gongan Cultural / Economic Framework
The Gongan Cultural/ Economic Framework research has been an ongoing process since 1993 and is utilised as a directional management tool that has culture as the core principle. Rod Williams started Gongan Consultancy Pty Ltd to develop a business style or management models that would build stronger linkages between the Aboriginal community and the business sector.
Gongan Consultancy has developed three directional management planning models, the Framework presents the issues and information in a more holistic manner.
Gongan Cultural/ Economic Framework (bottom up approach) is utilised as a directional management tool that has culture as the core principle. The Gongan Framework has a bottom up approach to facilitating information to develop the business direction that the individual, family and community would like to undertake. It is based on developing a strong cultural ethical base. The focus is orientated to gaining a holistic approach to business development by finding the right cultural, social, environmental and economic balance.
Gongan Corporate Planning Model (top down approach) is utilised as a management tool which ensures that corporations can negotiate a balanced long term agreement that suits their corporate direction and the Indigenous individual, community/ organisation’s aspirations. Finding a good “corporate fit” while accommodating cultural and economic aspirations.
Indigenous Business Network (IBN) Wealth Creation Model a simple conceptual planning tool to build and distribute wealth across all levels of the community.
The Frameworks Models do not replace the use of business plans, marketing plans, operational plans and financial forecasts that are essential business tools for any business or community entity they provide a cross cultural and corporate fit, building a common language for culturally diverse cultures.
