Business
Engagement planning, relationship building, partnership discussions and cross-cultural communication.
Gongan provides Indigenous engagement advice, consultation, workshops and strategic business planning.
Services are shaped around the people involved, the project goals and the cultural and business factors that may affect the outcome.

Gongan helps government and business build and strengthen relationships and partnerships with Indigenous organisations and communities. Advice can cover how to approach communities, communication methods, sensitivities that can lead to conflict, conflict-resolution strategies, different cultural views and attitudes, and the use of cultural and economic management models.
Gongan supports government and private business to consult and liaise with Indigenous people, communities and organisations. Rod can communicate industry and business concepts clearly and explain Indigenous groups’ cultural views and concerns to non-Indigenous organisations.
Rod delivers workshops for different client groups, including business-readiness workshops for Indigenous business partners, cultural diversity workshops for government and business, and facilitated workshops and conferences covering Indigenous business, issues and culture.
Rod’s planning approach considers both business and Indigenous cultural perspectives, focusing on the cultural fit and corporate fit. Gongan has prepared business plans for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander corporations in remote, regional and urban locations across Australia.
The home-page model continues here: business, government, community and universities each bring different priorities to the same work.

The paradigm shift is a shift from transactional and individualistic ways of thinking to a relational model grounded in connection, reciprocity, and shared responsibility. Within the Gongan Cultural and Spiritual Paradigm, relationships with people, Country, culture, spirituality, and future generations become the foundation for leadership, governance, and decision-making, recognising that sustainable outcomes emerge through respectful relationships rather than isolated actions.
